Feeding Habits Fresh spinach, zucchini, peas and lettuce. Live blood worms, glass worms, brine shrimp and tubifex worms. Frozen vegetable diet, daphnia, plankton, beef heart, brine shrimp, glass worms and blood worms. Flake and freeze dried foods also accepted.

Compatibility Peaceful loner fish that do not prefer to school with their own. Will mix well with other similar sized fish.

Habitat Sri Lanka: Moderately decorated with rocks, live plants and driftwood. Live plants may be nibbled on. Breeding During spawning the male is bright red and fuller bodied. Can produce up to 300 eggs at one time.

Additional Comments There is a misconception that all the members of the Barb Family are aggressive towards other tank mates. Cherry Barbs are a very passive barb that do not harass the other fish and tends to stick to themselves in the aquarium.
