· Cats are naturally clean animals but a kitten will need to shown what is required

· Provide a litter tray, filled with commercial litter and keep it in the same place

· Make sure the litter tray is kept thoroughly clean

· Be careful when cleaning the litter tray, some disinfectants can be toxic and your kitten may be repelled by the smell

· Take the kitten to the tray after waking and after meals

· If you have a garden, introduce your kitten to it gradually and they will soon learn to make their own toilet arrangements
