I have a 11 month old Welsh section c/d Gelding Foal! I am wondering when should i start to introduce roads to him and how do i do it? Aslo he has a problem when i bring him in like every now and again form the field to gve him a groom at the yard if there isnt another horse their he whinnies and panicks, jumps about and everything. Thank You x |

Im sure you've asked this before but just leading out on roads will be fine. At 11 months, it is just important he spends as much time around other horses as possible. He's got his whole life to be working, these are his baby years so just let him be. That is perfectly normal for a baby to be worried about being on his own, most horses would do the same as well. Just ignore it and make that time pleasurable and eventually he will settle down. He is incredibly young yet so he will panic an worry at being on his own. I still suggest you joining the New rider or Equine World forums. You will have a lot of answers and opinions to your questions. Good luck |
