Does anyone have any sugestions on what to put in the tank with it. And please don't tell me to put some tetras, I want to put another one with it but some websits say not to do that but if i can I believe me I want to. and if the length of the fish is an isue because I am going to move them into a big tank, eventually. ao please give me an answer |

| Ram are good. It's a cichlid but it's very small and peacefull. Very nice to look at too, sort of golden, with a couple of medium sized black spots, lots of one scale size neon blue dots, and a bit a punk dorsal fin. |

| anonymous you are ok with the fish you have. David, there is still not a lot known about knife fish. they are best treated with some caution but also exploration. i have never seen a recomendation for keeping two different species of knife fish together, in fact its all negative. however, i keep a brown african knife fish with a black asian species of knife fish along with blind cave tetra, pitbull plec, farlowella and i did have angel fish with them two (they're on there own now cuz they got nasty when they had fry). but basically its all a learning curve. try things but keep a small isolation tank running incase things dont work. |

| Definitely get a bigger tank, the brown knife alone will outgrow the 15. It will become stressed once it gets larger but not full size in that tank. I have a trio in a 55 gallon, along with 2 plecos and 5 LARGE cories. (If a knife can swallow a fish whole, eventually it will). With fish around the same size, they're fairly peaceful.(Unless you're lucky enough to have them breed, then all bets are off, lol) |
