Please do not consider purchasing tortoises that you suspect may have been imported into the UK. The Tortoise Protection Group have had lots of reports of illness's in imported tortoises, including Herpes, meningo-encephalitis, chronic worm infestations and tortoises sold with pneumonia.
If you are looking to purchase a tortoise, please take a look at the Tortoise Protection Group's list of Genuine UK Breeders and whilst there browse through our the care sheets, photos, other husbandry advice and a helpful forum for any questions you have.
