I have re-homed several over the last 30 years, so have great experience with them. I currently have three (two female and one male).

The tortoises are part of our family and are greatly loved. We have no other pets and two adult children, so your tortoise would be completely loved and doted on.

They currently sleep and hibernate in a purpose-built shed/hut in the garden which is cleaned and renewed regularly with straw. They have a pretty laid-back lifestyle and stay in the sun/come inside as and when they please. We aren't interested in breeding and let them live their lives happily!

It's extremely traumatic giving up any pet and I understand this. We re-homed one of our current tortoises because her owner was emigrating.

I therefore have no problem with you coming to have a look at our home and garden to ensure that you're happy leaving your totoise with us. We're also happy to send pics and updates in the future (our current re-homed tortoises owner didn't leave his details, and we often think how lovely it would be 15 years on to let him know she's happy and healthy)!!

If you or anyone you know would like a new happy and healthy home for their tortoise, please don't hesitate to contact us tainturier@hotmail.com
