There are lots of cheap tortoises for sale on the net for £99 5 for £55 each etc etc. All of thease are wild caught tortoises so beware!!!! DO NOT BUY as the tortoise might be sick and will cost you fortune in vets bills. By not buying these tortoises hopefully the trade in wild caught tortoises will stop. SO PLEASE BUY FROM A BREEDER IN THE UK. you will have a tortoise that is heathly and endless after care most tortoise breeders only sell for £100. If you are a tortoise breeder and want to be added to my list email me. To see the list go to http://www.shelledwarriors.co.uk |

blah blah blah...heard all your ill-thought out comments before too many times to care. You cannot back up any of your arguments and how are we/ you to know that your advertised tortoises aren't suffering from any diseases? Are you a registered vet? I take it you aren't so stop making out you are some sort of tortoise expert and authority. I've been on your site and you were slated from a Tortoise Trust memeber for giving out the wrong info on hibernation that could well have led to a tortoises death!! I know your intentions are good but your acusations (and that's all they are) are unfounded and without evidence so stop spouting your waffle and go elsewhere to flaunt your wares..take the many hints from replies on this site. We've been here before and as I menioned then feel free to call me on 01228 5101022 if you dispute anything I have just said. Carl. |

Wrong number...what can I say, I was typing in anger at your mundane posting. The number is 01228 510022 but I'm sure you have a record of this from the last time you spouted your waffle and lies, and the time before, and the time before....... Carl. |

Steer clear of anyone who offers to send tortoises in the post, pet shops and garden centres. You are best acquiring your tortoises from a reputable UK Breeder. Try:- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Tortsmad Or http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Tortoisefriends for a list of reputable breeders |

lol...AKA Shelled warrior/ Sarah Berry, you state you wouldn't like put in a box for the transport but bear in mind that:- 1. Tortoises will dig in for the night in their substrate for the night which is obviously similar to a box WITH THE SUBSTRATE IN!! 2. You say you we are not reputable and put forward a list of UK breeders to buy from but they obviously send them out the same way, which is fine for you but not us? 3. Of all the times I have welcomed you to call me on 01228 510022 you are YET to call me to discuss it..kind of sitting on the fence really aren't you. 4. Do you have a valid pet shop licence? If not then you may very well be in serious trouble if you sell any of your tortoises. 5. You are clearly operating a business going by your website and Ebay (username blondesarah) and I hope you are registered with the Inland Revenue as such for income tax, because I have today contacted them and given your details inclusing your home address. It is NOT sour grapes, it is simply ILLEGAL to not declare it. Why should we all pay taxes if you are avoiding them. I asked you this before to give you time to respond but going by the lack of an answer I have assumed you aren't and felt obliged to contact HM customs and excise. 6. You have stated previously that you have illegally caught red footed tortoises at home...do you not feel as though you are the pot calling the kettle black? My tortoises are ALL legally registered, are yours?? You might feel as though I am instigating arguments here but I think you will find that you are. You spout your cr*p and run, same old same old. Instead of giving an immature lol and nonsense answer, call me to discuss it for one and for all. Be an adult and stand up to be counted..or sod off! Carl |

| tortioses should all come with there own documents if they are bought in a shop, just paperwork ,sometimes with a photo showing its markings, like a tortoise birth certificate....lol |
|
|
|
|
| stikky - hmm only some tortoises need certificates, and don't accept a "tortoise birth certificate", only accept a DEFRA one and if in doubt ring defra to confirm the dealer/breeder you are buying from is genuine, has not been banned from supplying torts and that the license number is genuine |

Kimosabi Substrate is the floor material (e.g. topsoil, hemp etc. Stikky, With regards to purchasing tortoises, the best source is a local breeder. They have lots of time and effort invested in their babies and will always give you the correct advice. You will find that sellers on the internet who mail out tortoises, pet shops, garden centres and the like sell tortoises as a commodity, there is no emotional attachment, they have little if any experience in raising tortoises, and the aftercare just isn't there. Also there are a large amount of wild-caught tortoises imported as captive-bred and DEFRA and are supplying licenses as they do not have the resouces to prove otherwise. Ideally a complete ban on the importation of animals for pets would be an ideal solution......but there are too many people making a lot of money out of the suffering of these poor animals. Please do use local breeders who genuinely sell UK captive-bred babies. For details of breeders in your area check out:- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Tortoisefriends/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Tortsmad/ http://www.shelledwarriors.co.uk/ Thanks |

Shelledwarrior..you say you aren't getting in to an arguement as you cannot back it up or finish them off..typical you. You seem to love starting them though!! Still no phone call, what a surprise. Hopefully you will not take part in ANY arguements from now on, or will you simply pick and choose like you normally do? Goodbye. PS: If anybody else receives slanderous comments from Sheeledwarrior/ Blondesarah or from her IP address just email me and I'll happily pass on her home contact details so she can't do her normal fire and run tactics. Carl. |

dentonparrots - I'm sorry this is the second time you have threatened to disclose private information of someone else as an insightment to cause abuse or harassment. Please be careful or you will be reported and you may lose your right to sell tortoises are you are encouraging people to contact a fellow tortoise keeper, and in a positive light. Sarah - unless you have the full evidence you must be careful about stereotyping businesses based on selling prices. Also you do not have to place ad after ad in the space of two days on every possible forum on the internet. I know you have received a warning of being banned from one site and it does becoming spammingly annoying. |
