Hi Rebel, I believe some of these epilepsy meds can increase the urge to urinate, ( but that side effect along with the urge to drink and eat extra or being unusually dozy sometimes can wear off as the body adjusts to the drug). Plus with epilepsy there's the risk of a puddle during a seizure. Hope things soon settle down, he sounds in good hands and most dogs who are vet checked regularly and take the medication can lead perfectly happy lives |

i would contact the vets pronto. it could well be that this is a side effect of the drug you've been given but there may be more on the market that dont have the same effects. when my shih tzu became ill and started wetting in the house she was mortified and tried to hide it, it made her miserable. for your dogs sake as well as your own i would call the vet for a chat. most good vets will chat or call you back for a chat so you wont have to pay for another visit. alternativly make a vet nurse appointment. |

one of my dogs was diagnosed with epilepsy last week, and has been prescribed medication for it. however, since starting this medicine, he's been urinating in the house, and i don't just mean a wee dribble here and there lol i was wondering if this is a result of the medication or just coincidence? he's not had "accidents" in the house since he was about 9 or 10 weeks old, and he's getting quite stressed about it. any advice on how to stop this would be much appreciated. |
