Why docked......why do you want a mutilated dog? If dogs didnt need tails why would they be born with them erh? Again mutilate an animal for the sole purpose of a so called 'human'. Would you be so quick to cut of your or your kids finger for the look.

Animal lover ....likehell you are

Eve, Mat -

We were lucky enough to be able to rescue a 2yr old from a local rescue which does not specialise in the breed, however we had been looking for around 18months...

Try the following sites:

www.dobermannrehome.co.uk
www.dobermannsinneed.co.uk
www.dobermannwelfare.org.uk
www.dobermann-rescue.co.uk
www.dogsblog.com/category/dobermann/

They don't so much need the house space so long as you can let them off lead quite often to blow off that steam that accumulates... I have found the dobermann welfare an invaluble source of knowledge.

When you find your boy be sure to check the legality of his docked tail as docking was made illegal in April 07. Our lad is docked but its an illegal job and frankly a sorry state of a stump, i'd much rather he had a healthy tail which didn't cause him the discomfort his stump does. I'd also be tempted to consider an older dobie - still have great energy levels.

Above all good luck.
