With all due respect birdlover, I havent gatecrashed anyone elses posts regarding ex battery hens, and havent taken too kindly to you doing so to mine.
Why you couldnt have just done a seperate post to advertise the plight of battery hens I dont know....

Just because they have 'enjoyed life' doesnt mean they deserve to have it ended so ex battery hens have a home!!!
There are plenty of prospective chicken owners out there, so nobody should lose out.

Thankfully though, without trying to push in on other rescues going on and shoving these birds in peoples faces, we have sucessfully found homes for the whole flock...

Just a quick note though, through doing this rescue I have met many people who have previously adopted ex batts, and find that they are more prone to being aggressive, many dont last long, and some have been so agrophobic, they didnt enjoy their new life anyway!
Being a responsible rescue, I make sure people know the pros and cons to any new pet they take on, and dont just tug the heart strings.

These are free range chickens so at least they have enjoyed life?

Please don't forget about the battery hens that have never seen daylight and desperately need a happy ending to their lives.

I know all species deserve a second chance, some more than others.

I am helping to find homes for the remaining 300 hens.
They are White Star hybrids, in good feather and condition, healthy and still laying well.
The hens are £3 per bird, which is going to the farmer, who has been extremely fair in cancelling their slaughter and keeping them all until homes can be found (unlike many who would have lost patience by now and done away with them).
All petrol costs are being paid out of volunteers pockets, so please do not insult us by asking for a reduced price, we are simply unable to.

I can arrange to meet and deliver between Aylesbury and Milton Keynes, or can arrange collection from either of these meeting points.

Please call 07938 764 523 for more information or see www.freewebs.com/pigginrescue

Many thanks for looking
